Pay no attention to the Barnes & Noble pervert

by on October 6, 2008

Weird: Noticing that the downtown DC Barnes & Noble has placed its “Sexuality” section out in the open and in plain view of everyone who goes to the second floor.

Weirder: Seeing that the same Barnes and Noble has considered it a strategic advantage to stack its “Family & Childcare” section directly behind its “Sexuality” section.

Weirdest: Realizing that though you consider Barnes & Noble’s floor plan humorous enough to take a picture of so you can cynically blog about it, you appear to be, in fact, the only pervert in the bookstore taking a photo of books called “The Sex Bible” and “The Orgasm Loop”.

BOOKSTORE FAIL.

This section is usually right next to the LGBT section too… guess all the perverts are grouped together in B&N’s eye ;-)

I didn’t see where the GLBT section was relative to these sections but if I had to guess, there wasn’t one.

My best friend likes to go in the sexuality section, pick out an erotic stories book, and read them aloud to me (even if I’m standing on the others side of the store.) He thinks he is quite hilarious.

me? not so much.

I like your BFF, sounds like something I would do.

Wait. Sounds like something I have done.

I think vid stores have the right idea… all “sexuality” related items are placed in a room discreetly hidden behind a beaded curtain. B&N might give that a go.

Especially if customers like me are going to take photos.

How do they expect the customers to masturbate when they do this?

Ever notice that maxi pads, pregnancy tests, sex lube, and condoms are always in the same section?

It’s like you can’t go over there without everyone knowing you’re Up To Something.

I don’t know how you think I use maxi pads during sex but I’m curious how you think I use them.

And then you bought both books.

That’s what my B&N gift cards were there for.

The dirty book section out to be over by the humor section. Because sure as shit, I am going to giggle if I see someone pick up the Loop and read intently.

So taking a photo of it with my phone wouldn’t elicit any guffaws but me picking it up and reading it would?

So, the Orgasm Loop - what’s the final move?

A twist or a smack?

I don’t spoil endings, happy or otherwise. You’ll just have to read it for yourself.

You did not disappoint on the mild scandalization front this morning. Appreciate that.

And I love that Chris knows you’ll know the answer to that question.

Looking forward to your explanation as to how and why the Phillies beat down the Dodgers… after they do. :)

Did you just write the words “…why the Phillies beat down the Dodgers…” on my blog?

OK, good, just checking.

On a separate note, you know I can hack into your computer, right?

I assume you are all powerful… I just don’t assume you have the ability to bestow that power to your boys, or they would’ve kicked a lot more ass this year! ;)

Joe Torre should have played me at shortstop when he had the chance.

Quite humorous - those parents better hope their kids don’t wander into the wrong section if they’re not ready to answer certain questions.

It might just provide the necessary ice breaker.

milano miss 10.06.08 at 2:36 pm

perhaps it’s just that family and childcare is just extremely, inextricably linked to sex…One can/lead to the other. maybe that’s the genius of the set up.

milano miss’s last blog post..Please, rain on my parade.

Perhaps…but, then again, you might just be giving B&N too much credit.

This reminds me when we used to go into the library to look at the sexuality books so we could see boobs.

that was yesterday.

How is it a fail? Got you to provide a bit of free advertising didn’t they?? Later this month, in time for Halloween, they should cuddle the religious and occult book sections together - rile up the book-burning and free speech bloggers.
